Backstory
Her father James was listed as MIA in Starfleet. *Birth parents have been found since*
John Collins found the four year old Maggie wandering the streets looking for food after she was separated from her big brother and baby sister when her mother, Christine was getting attacked during the food riots, took her in, adopted her and raised her as their own. In the days, months and years ahead they helped her search for her family.
John Collins’ ancestor invented phase transition coils that were used in the transporters to enable the person to be changed from matter to energy and back again. Maggie owns the sole rights to the patent.
Mary and John lived in their family's mansion on a hill and employed drivers, chef and maids. They were one of the wealthiest families in the country. Maggie was their sole heir and inherited their entire estate; the Collins never had children of their own.
Mary closed the Keeler house up and paid all the bills, until Maggie was old enough to take over it. When Maggie was older and went through the belongings she found out Edith Keeler was a distant relative whose death could have been prevented by a few Starfleet personal and found many of her personal effects that were handed down through the generations. Maggie has a copy of Edith's diary but she would never use it against the federation. It would be against her character, or would it?
Young Adulthood
She went to high school and met Betty Beta and they became friends, until they went their separate ways after high school.
After John and Mary Collins' death she applied to the academy in hopes to learn more about her parent's death and/or disappearance.
Adulthood
Maggie turned both old homesteads into and HUGE working "ranch". Boothby is the caretaker of the grounds. They grow a wide variety of vegetables,acres of orchards, raised different livestocks and had a winery. She has 12 breeds of horse in the stables. There is a small petting zoo.
The foods and supplies (except weapons) are given freely to anybody of need, anywhere.
Many far and wide are on a waiting list to volunteer to work the lands. The workers get free room board, a vehicle, and an allowance for working the land.
She uses the Keeler Foundation money to help any in need and puts half her wages into that foundation and the other half into trust funds for ALL her children.
Military Experience
Federation Academy: She met Will Riker in her first year in the academy and they dated until their assignments parted them. They later met up again when he got assigned to be her First officer on the Omega and later they were married.
Service years
She had a family friend in the right places to give her the assignment in the Mirror Universe. (so later, she would be the right area to find her parents.)
She Later joined the UEP, where she served on the Columbia to get her feet wet.
She finally got word from Adml. Robert Lee, the old friend of her father and set out to find him with help of her allies and family.
She started an Adoption Agency and adopted many family members herself, who lost their family and home.
She never kept the fact she was from the Federation from anybody and she became one of them in her heart and soul.
She excelled in communication and medical fields and the Stock Market.
After the Crossover she returned to StarFleet.
After she proved herself with the Omega, the Federation transferred her to the brand new Ds21. (named after the 21st. Mission)

DS21 also gets the latest tech stuff first to test out.
Maggie has limited rights to use the Guardian of Forever with the understanding NOT to change history.

Was she a leader or a follower? A Follower, or so she has proven time and time again.
Personal Enemies
The Babbours went back in time to the food riots and kidnapped Christine to use her as a pawn with Maggie and to get the Omega; thus trying to prevent her "good work."
Jessica and Lauri were the key to find Christine; (using the unique telepathy to her). They also kidnapped the girls, unaware of their possible relation to them.
They also captured Maggie, who at this point could never carry a child without death from some of the nanites and torture techniques they used on her. (Thanks to Markell Bell she was able to carry and give birth to twins)
The Babbours returned a few times and were defeated as their ship exploded during the last encounter. Maggie still has their medallion which holds great powers. It has been rumored that Mira was their sister but has never been proven 100%.

With every typo the stock goes up, two in same sentence the stock splits. When the word congratulations is spelled with a 'd' instead of the 't', it doubles, splits and doubles again.
