Commercial Starships and Merchant Vessels
From MU
Like most outposts and stations, Maquis Universal has a wide variety of commercial starships and merchant vessels that visit the station on a regular basis. These ships transport both passengers and goods from over a hundred worlds in the Alpha, Beta and Delta Quadrants.
MU Station serves as a hub in the Trelvan Sector for these ships plying the spacelanes. This page describes some of the various types of commercial and merchant vessels that visit MU Station and provides a limited list of known vessels that have visited MU Station.
- Note: All players in MU are encouraged to add to this list. When adding to it, please put your spacecraft's name, the owner's name and any details you wish (if any). Also, feel free to add any categories that need adding.

Passenger Liners
A passenger liner is a type of starship whose primary function is to carry passengers. The type includes many classes of starship designed to transport substantial numbers of passengers as well as freight. Passenger liners are able to transport mail, package freight and express, and other cargo in addition to passenger luggage. While typically passenger liners are part of many of a world's merchant service, passenger ships have also been used as troop ships.
Known passenger liners that have docked at MU Station: Astral Queen, Botanical Cruiser, Federation Heavy 798, Cloud Nine, Gemenon Traveller, Gemon Liner 1701, Picon Spaceways 360, Picon Princess, Pan Galactic Heavy 2468, Rising Star, Scorpia Traveller, Saggitarian Spaceways 181, Tauranian Traveller, Virgon Express.
Freighters
A freighter is any sort of ship or vessel that carries cargo, goods, and materials from one port to another. Hundreds of thousands of freighters ply the galaxy's spacelanes each year; they handle the bulk of interstellar trade. Freighters are usually specially designed for the task, often being equipped with onboard equipment to load and unload, and come in all sizes.

Unlike freighters, which generally carry only cargo, transports range from civilian personnel carriers to military troop transports and are used for carrying a few dozen to several hundred passengers or troops. More specialized transports, such as colony ships, are designed to transport personnel for planetary colonization.
