Definition

In this little world of make believe, the term demon takes on a slightly different, more Greek, meaning. Unlike the Judeo-Christian definition, which paints demons as "an evil spirit; devil or fiend," the Greeks saw demons as any magical being that was neither divine nor mortal. Demons could be either benevolent or malevolent, and mainly was more concerned with their own entertainment above concepts of right and wrong. This, of course, includes the modern image of what a demon is, but also expands it out to include many many more beings. This definition also opens the door to wide variety of options in character creation.

Classifications

In this little world of make believe, there are multitudes of various types of demons. You have everything from the demons you've heard about in Sunday school, to Satyres and faeries. So the classification of demons is broken down to three base groups. Due to where and how each group of demons comes into being, there are specific types of magic associated with each group.

Natural

Natural demons are those beings born or created in the mortal realm. Minotaur, leprachauns, hydra, or Lilith are all examples of natural demons. Magic types generally include physical and natural magicks, meaning that they do things like shape shift, elemental magic, and communicate with the spirits/fauna/flora.

Ethereal

Immortals created outside the mortal realm. Chaosians, Amberites, and Mazoku are the primary ethereals. The magic they use most revolves around the building blocks of the universe, also known as the "ether."

Hellion

Hellions are those demons who are created in and of hell. This list does NOT include the fallen, as they are angels and not demons.
