Backstory
Harold was created quite by accident. Kairal was doing her best to improve the power and accuracy of the temporal equipment aboard the ship given to her by Starfleet Temporal, and she decided to create a simple neural network and assign it to the task. Within a few years, the neural network reached "critical mass," and became sentient.
The AI now known as Harold is the eighth major revision of the neural network software (Aaron, Blake, Curtis, Dominic, Elliot, Fredrick, Glenn, Harold), and has proven the most stable long-term. Previous versions have all suffered from an inevitable build-up of network pathways that eventually result in cascading failures. Harold is quite scared of this happening to him.
Harold has worked with Kairal for years, and has become her right-hand man. Indeed, the entire purpose of purchasing an android body for his use was so that he could work with her more closely on securing the MU timelines.
Harold is curious, laid back, and can be painfully arrogant. Having the complete history of the galaxy at his fingertips, he's grown accustomed to always being factually correct. While Kairal has tried to discourage this way of thinking, Harold is still unaccustomed to speaking with people other than her, and tends to step on toes.
