The history of the universe has long been written in the blood of the people and populations who are the conquered, the oppressed. Many people on many worlds lacked the strength of heart, courage and power required to take on the mighty war machines and cruel dictators of the cosmos. For these unfortunates, there has been no hope.
Until now.
A small group of revolutionaries have banded together, brought to each other's attention by the notice of random acts of defiance against the oppressors, of whatever kind, whatever place. They come from a variety of backgrounds, some defecting from the overlords, others from the planets of Sol, still others from the far corners of the universe, all with a single cause in mind: the protection of those unable to protect themselves.
Since the initial energies of the group began to coalesce into concerted action, momentum has grown. Like-minded individuals found this core group and added their talents and interests, building Maquis Universal into a real threat to those who would force others into slavery and submission. A gradual accumulation of resources, ships and acquisition of a secure headquarters based in the EnigMaian system have helped establish the Maquis as a strong force fighting for the rights and freedom of those oppressed, wherever they might be. Banding together with other like-minded groups, they have moved into a new universe with planets to make their homes and new adventures.
Those looking for adventure and honor as modern Freedom Fighters are encouraged and welcomed to join these renegades in their mission to save their Universe.
