Monty

From MU

Monty is a member of the Doubtful crew, a young boy who was smuggled aboard the ship by a group of green-skinned Olesians on a planet called Perpetra. When he arrives, he is highly impaired, almost autistic, but he has an affinity for electronic objects.

He is assigned to engineer Benzi Quinn (a very non-parental sort of fellow) in order to see if they can expand upon his innate talents. As time passes, and the boy is given a human-type diet instead of an Olesian one, he begins to rid himself of the heavy metals and other contaminants in his system, so he can communicate, at least on a minimal level, and share some of his genius. He in fact helped put together the puzzle that activated an alien device that saved the Doubtful from its pursuers and ejected the ship into this universe.

He has also a symbiotic relationship with the X descendant Chandi, child of Kylie Sanderson and Baltazar Griff. When they are in close physical proximity, he can speak the common galactice language just as well as anyone and express his thoughts clearly.

When Benzi Quinn disappeared for a time in the bowels of the MU station (captured by a bunch of ranats), Monty then became the ward of Dani Jamar, the Doubtful's chief engineer.
