Backstory
Childhood
Well, Nate's had one of THOSE lives right from the start. He was born into the happy union of Lucas and Genvieve Covington. All was well for at least two years, when his mother ran off, never to be heard from again. Lucas remarried when he was 4 to a woman named Paige. Paige was a cat lady. Not the crazy kind who lives with all the cats, but an actual cat lady. Fur, whiskers, tail, and the rest of the package. A few short months later, there was a litter of 8 little kitten/children. A few months after that and Lucas went insane and became a supervillain who had to be killed. The man who killed Lucas was his best friend, Aaron. Just before killing Lucas, Aaron made a promise to watch over Nate, who happened to be in the room, watching his father be killed by a family friend. For the next 4 years, Nathaniel lived with his stepmother, but not to worry, that didn't last long. MU was attacked by a new type of alien invaders who abducted many of the crew, including our soon-to-be knight. That attack caused Paige to make a hasty escape. Unfortunately, she left Nate for dead. Once the abductees were recovered and the invaders deal with, Nate was on his own. So he did what any boy of nine years of age dreams about doing-- he lived in a tree house and started training as a Knight in the Courts of Chaos under Aaron's care.
Adolescence
Adolescence was a time of training and adventure for Nate. He spent most of his time at what he knicknamed, "The Othort Academy for Better Knights and Heroes." Nate wasn't all that different from normal kids really. Well, if you consider training in swordplay, horsemanship, and tactics all day and sleeping in a tree house at night normal. To be fair, he didn't live in the tree house the whole time. He and his first love moved into a cave when he was like 15. So, he's never had any sort of formal schooling. However, he had the next best thing in the neighborhood teacher who worked as a private tutor for him and became the closest thing he's ever had to a mom. In his later teens, he started leaving school every so often for a few months at a time to go travel the galaxy and gain adventures and knowledge. After one of these trips, he came home after five months to find Zellanna Metallium(his first love and then girlfriend) married and pregnant. Needless to say, that threw the young man into a deep state of melancholy. In his depression, he went on a rampage in his adventuring and killing. To help his adopted son get through this, Aaron unleashed his powers of demonic divinity and changed Nate. Changed him into a demon. It's at this point that Nate gained his powers, with the exception of his psionic abilities-- he's had those since birth. These new powers and abilities and meaning to life gave Nate something to focus on.
Young Adulthood
In this stage of his life, Nate moved on and grew. He took jobs like bouncer, delivery man, ranch hand and bartender. That first job was where he met the woman with whom he's still in love. Georgia was the bartender in the MU lounge and hired him on as muscle to keep things under control. After working together for a few months, a romantic relationship formed. Nate lost his virginity. Well, not so romantic. More of an F-buddies situation, but he still loved her. Then she died. She died in a drug induced stupor while a mob bookie's boys raided her apartment, looking for the money her room mate owed their employer.
Nate moved on, there wasn't anything else for him to do. She started a trend of women coming in and out of his life. There was Kylie Sanderson, who left him to not only marry Baltazar Griff, "The Son of Godzilla," but to undergo the genetic treatments to become one of his kind. There was also his wife via arranged marriage, whom he loved dearly. Just not until after they were married. During the betrothal period, he had an affair with a lesbian. He and Sheena lived happily in arranged wedded bliss. Nate started an interstellar company and started to settle down with his lovely bride. They even produced offspring in the beautiful boy named Seamus. To be accurate, they didn't produce offspring. Sheena worked as a bounty hunter at the time, and while on a job tracking down a big nasty, she was abducted by her mark. He then proceeded to rape and beat and rape again. Sadly, that's how Seamus came to be.
A few short months after Seamus came to the world, his mother left. Sheena was killed in her garden by a mob hitman who had a grudge against Nate. There he was, left to raise the reminder of the defiling of his wife. He does love Seamus. His son has been the most stable part of his life. Particularly during the first 3 years of the boy's life, where it was just him and his daddy, and his daddy's occasional female friend. I believe Brad Colbert's mom was the big catch during this time.f
More happened than just his romantic entanglements. For instance, on his twenty first birthday, he was attacked by a group of a hellions who carved a curse into his chest. This curse did a couple things. The first being that it damned his soul forever. Nate was then cursed with being tainted by hell's energy. But, on the upside of being permanently barred from Heaven, came the ability to use hell born magic. Mostly what that meant, was that he now had power over and with souls. For example, he can displace souls, eat souls, or trade souls in the dark markets. It also gave him the ability to travel to and from Hell at will.
To go back earlier than that, when he was 17 and adventuring, he had become friends with a faerie who later died weeping in the palm of his hand. She was the reason he has access to natural magics; such as spirit talking or a very limited amount of elemental control.
Adulthood
Remember back when I mentioned that Georgia is dead? Nate turned to her ghost for help, which lead to an ethereal love affair. For years after Sheena's death, he tried to find a way to bring Georgia back to life. His demonhood gave him the ability to see and communicate with the spirits. And sure, he could raise her from the grave, but zombies don't make for good mates. So, for the time being, Nate needed to work through the loss of his wife, and left with his son and warship/android/robonanny named Ahriman. He tried his hand at Farming while trying to work out how to not just raise Georgia, but to resurrect her. A couple wars later, with the help of his best Q pal, Katelyn, Ms. Georgia Laurie was returned from the dead. So now he lives with the love of his life and works as a law and order security officer on MU Station.
Military Experience
Well, he's a knight in the courts of Chaos, he's practiced and trained in many forms of martial arts and combat tactics. Infact, he's even started a private military corporation called Covington Solutions, which is still in operation today. He left his company when his wife died.
Interacting With MU
He is a member of the security staff. Though he lives down planetside, he actually likes the stress and aggravation of doing his job up in security.

The Brecht Disappearance
Lieutenant Guy Brecht has disappeared, kidnapped actually. He and one of the lovely female denizens from below have both been taken by an organization who is attempting to use the pair's lematya for foul and evil purposes against the MU
The Abuse of Kenzie
A wealthy teenage girl makes an a drunken ass out of herself in the lounge, getting herself arrested. When her father is called, he sends Mr. Thomas John Covington III out to retrieve her. The girl accuses her care taker of being wildly abusive with elaborate and imaginative punishments. The only problem is that he has the power to suppress her memories of those situations. The veracity of her claims are backed up by a telepathic probe performed by the newest security recruit, Elerin Vall.
Unholy Matrimony
Lady Saran and King Merlin the wise (Merle Corey as he goes by in this shadow) have planned to marry after only a long walk and a trip to royal gallery. This news does not sit well with Nate (who is indeed a knight and prince in Merle's court who is not alone in his ill feelings for this union) and he feels a need to a guide the situation to a satisfying result. That not happening, he's so far convinced Lady Saran to at least postpone the wedding to at least give the show of a more traditional courtship.
